31.   Things That Should Not Happen

Things that shouldn’t happen to a dog often show no such

bias when it comes to humans.

The person who coined the term “a dog’s life” may have

observed a neighbor’s dog that knew the particulars of

having such a life and wagged its tail in the face of it.
