18.   Two Mirrors



Few things reassure us more of our perfection than seeing

the changes that should be made in other people.



On the other hand, nothing alarms us more than finding

we’re in possession of those imperfections we’ve seen in

others.  There are two mirrors set before us, then:  One

that we’re certain is reliable, in which we see our perfection,

and one we’re tempted to send back to the shop for repairs.
