10. A Vacation
A vacation is that perversity which would be heavenly
if it didn’t tend to make us feel free.
Drive to a resort for a weekend, and you will find that
the daily cares accompanying you can be tolerated once
the weekend is over. But enjoy the vacation of your life
in an island paradise for two full weeks, and returning
home, you will either throw down your bags in disgust
or barbecue your pet goat for dinner or vote Republican.
